    Hi,

    I've exactly asked this question on the V2 thread, but no answer for the moment :( . I think that it would be a good idea to give us a little more explanations on this :) .
  • can you be more explicit please? where do you see impressions and page views on fiverr??..
  • Reply to @juanito89: These only appear on Fiverr V2 Juanito. Maybe you still didn't got access to it?

    I cannot comment with regards to version 2 of fiverr as I have not seen it at all and know nothing about it. I can give you a general idea of what the difference should be. Page views are generally how many times a page is viewed, or landed on, regardless of its a bot, a real visitor or martians. Impressions depend on how how it is defined and calculated and with regards to fiverr this will be down to their own definition and how they have coded this, for example impressions in fiverr's case could be the number of gigs viewed on your page but I have no idea as I have not seen it. With adsense the impression relate to the impressions on the ads and is different to the page views itself. The same goes for other advertising networks and CPA networks as well.

    Wayne was kind enough to explain:
    Impressions are how many times your gig appeared on a page/search. Page views are Howany people actually viewed your page. But I still don't know the difference between clicks and page views.

    Reply to @seohut: I figure they mean the same lol, but the numbers are different, so... they must represent different things.....

    @DavidVerissimo

    My assumptions are:

    PageView
    Is counted each time there's a visit to your gig/profile AND the visitor doesn't click on anything. Just looks

    Impressions
    Is counted when your gig appears with other seller gigs ie on a Category page let's say For example: a viewer searches for 'translate English to Portuguese' and your gig appears with other sellers

    Hence:
    davidverissimo said: I always have a HUGE difference between these two.

    because, continuing with the example above, there are other sellers offering translation services and yours appears alongside them in the search results :)

    Clicks are counted when a viewer has clicked on anything placed on your gigs ie a video, title, image, live portofolio example :)

    SUMMARY
    PageView = appearing alone
    Impression = appearing with others
    Clicks = viewer is interested in something on your page/gig (This is the most important of the three as viewer has made an effort to find out more about your gig by actually clicking something on your Fiverr profile or gig)

    As I said, these are my assumptions, therefore, doesn't mean they are correct :-B

    Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer this in such detail Zoe! I hope Fiverr could actually explain this so that people don't have a bunch of data in their profiles they can't really understand.

    I did say

    because I hadn't had access to V2 when I responded on June 13 (was going by my website creation knowledge) and it seems the only thing I missed out was the 30days bit :) Still dunno know if I'm entirely right though!

    Have you seen this post?

    Kevinwil answers one of your questions there and on Fiverr's Facebook and Twitter posts today, there's a test of seller's knowledge on the analytics icons meanings with a promised official answers to your questions from Fiverr coming soon :)

    Must say, I do like Chris Hardy's answers to the question in the Facebook comments!

  • I think Zoe's answer is correct. Well, Just a thought which came into my head when I look at those icons, the "Impressions" icon on top looks like "Views" and the "PageViews" icon looks like a "Note" or a "New" button/icon :) What do you think guys? :)

  • Zoe's answer seems correct apart from the click stat - I think that is about how many people have clicked on your Gig link from all the impressions you have done (while on a page with other gigs).

    Since the tooltip does say "Clicks From Impressions".

    Doesn't really make sense to count if a user has clicked anywhere inside your gig.

    Hope my 'blind' answer was of some use to you too!

    I say 'blind' because

    Either way, this question has been asked again on this forum here:

    http://forum.fiverr.com/discussion/11830/what-are-impressions

    with an offical Fiverr answer given by Kevinwil!

    and if you haven't seen the other unofficial attempts to answer this question, you'll find them here on the Fiverr Facebook page: http://goo.gl/H7tjs

    I still think that Chris Hardy's interpretation and answers given there are the best though :)

  • Adding to the bits you know I think its people who have searched (impressions) and actually picked out your gig looking at the profile, that's the clicks.

    The page views themselves are a mixture of clicking and just general browsers. I know alot of this was reiterated but thought I might shed some light on the clicks haha!
  • Impressions = Times your gig has come up in search results.
    Clicks = Times people have clicked on your gig FROM those search results- nowhere else.
    Page Views = Total pages views from all sources, including buyer requests, browsing sections, etc.
  • Thank you This is how i understand it.

    And now I understand the difference between Clicks and page views.
    Thanks.
  • While on the topic of impressions, have any of you experienced this bug: impressions stay the same while clicks and pageviews go up?
  • This is confusing, but this thread helped shed some light on it at least!
  • One of my Gigs currently has more page views than impressions; how can than be?
  • Hi

    If I can chime in and comment on the question of more page views than impressions and also as, what are typical, decent or optimal Levels of these figures? I think one number that is not talked about enough first, is the conversion rate. Anyone?

    Maybe I get 30 hits to my gig in one month? What is more important to me? How many people came to my site, or how many came and bought? Personally If everyone that came to my gig ordered, that would be ideal. What these numbers explain are these Levels.

    A high amount of impressions would tell me that fiver or the community have a bit or interest in your gig. Impressions also tell you how many times your gig has been displayed to users. This is different from when a user enters certain keywords in a search, and then ends up on your gig pr clicks around the site and ends up on your gig.

    You could say that impressions are controlled by the site and page-views are controlled by the user. For what if your ad is played to someone on the site, but just as your page loads, the get up to do something else. This would be(to me) an example of an impression and not a page view. If your impressions are low, you may want to ask why. If your page-views are low, you may want to edit your gig some, change the keywords or add a video.

    Impressions should be in the thousands conversion should be at 5 percent? I would have more interest in impressions.

    I hope that explanation helped and is not terrible. Please check out my gig page and let me know what you think about all that. I am interested in knowing what are decent numbers or what type of audience fiverrr has.
