  1. Hello everyone, I want to share my story and some concerns I have. My name is Muhammad Iqbal, and I started using Fiverr in 2016 after finishing a course in graphic design. At first, I didn't get any orders, so I decided to improve my skills by taking more courses online and offline. Since I also studied software engineering, I really liked working in the UI/UX category. I got an internship with a company called The Nerd Camp, and after a few months, I got a job with a company called SMSAMI, where I worked for almost two years as UI UX Designer and where I got the title, "The Father of UI UX Design". Then, in December 2018, I decided to give Fiverr another try. Surprisingly, I started getting lots of orders, and within two months, I reached Level 1 and Level 2 status as a seller. I have achieved the top-rated status since 2021, and unexpectedly, Fiverr elevated my account to Level Two in June 2023 without any specific reason. I've always worked hard to make sure every order is perfect, and I've never received any negative feedback. With a 5-star rating, I've earned over $200,000 on Fiverr. This money has helped me support my family, buy a house, and even start my own team called Welldux, which focuses on UI/UX design. My goal is for Welldux to become a top UI/UX agency by the end of the year. I've always been loyal to Fiverr, and I've even convinced some of my offline clients to start using it. But about a year ago, my account started having problems. I tried everything to fix it, including upgrading to a Seller Plus account and getting help from a Success Manager, but nothing worked. Then, on April 18th, I got a shocking email saying that my account was disabled, some of my orders were canceled, and a meeting with a client was called off. Now, I have some questions for Fiverr: Is my eight-year career on Fiverr going to be ruined because of this? If there's any proof that I broke the rules, could you please show me? What should I do about the team I've built? Should I let them go? What about my regular clients who bring in $4,000 to $8,000 each month? Should I stop working with them on Fiverr? I'm waiting for your response and hoping for a solution to this problem
  2. Now sellers who rely on ChatGPT to communicate for them can also use the magic of artificial everything to do Zoom calls on Fiverr. I won't be naming the software here (do your own darn legwork!), but it is rather impressive. AI video has been capable for a while now of making it look like you're "always looking at the camera", which is very useful for when AI interview software is listening to difficult questions and feeding you answers. AI photography can work from, let's say 30 headshots, in your phone gallery to create a "you" (and of course make you look nice instead of the terrifyingly ugly mess you actually are). It can then turn that gorgeous headshot into a talking video, complete with hand movements, nods, and other slightly repetitive natural gestures! If not in real time, then soon. Oh, and it'll also clone your voice. What's that, the interview's in another language like say, English? No problem. You don't actually know anything about the job or what you do because AI has reduced your brain to the size of a raisin and all you know how to do is write prompts? No problem. Feed the AI with knowledge and sound smart. === That's just a few of the things this did. Is it any good? I have no idea, but even if it isn't that good now, it will be a lot better soon and close to perfect later on. What I will say is that the demo looked really impressive. The guy was gurning and thumbs-upsing for a TikTok video as the interview continued in the background. Anyway, I know quite a few people use Zoom calls to establish their humanity and realness and knowledge - but that advantage is rapidly disappearing. Side-note: this kind of technology is almost certainly going to start being used by scammers in the near future. Be careful, children, and remember Fiverr has no AI disclosure policies. Quick question for Fvierr Staff, on the off-chance that anyone reads this on the single day of the week that is the weekend in TLV and the West: What measures is Fiverr taking to prevent this kind of technology from being used in its on-platform Zoom calls? I ask, because it's very clear that many sellers and buyers are not as AI-aware as they could be, leaving them vulnerable - and many users already fall victim to less sophisticated scams. As a platform, you do have some duty of care here. In brighter news, it looks like regulations will soon mandate the watermarking of generative AI-created stuff, which should help actual detection rates increase a lot. Bad news for the people who are building entire businesses around their ability to "write" and "draw" and whatever else when their actual ability is that of a sprouting potato.
  3. Client asked me for available time to do meeting to share screen. I told him that We can't proceed towards meetings until we create an order. Once we create an offer then we'll have access to the zoom meeting. I did right? what should we do if client ask for meeting to make requirements clear before placing an order?
  4. I was coordinating with a client of mine for a meeting that was supposed to be at 11 AM their time (In the UK). I messaged them at 11 AM their time when it said Local time: Apr 15, 2024, 11:00 AM on my client's inbox page (Right below where it says the username of the client in a chat). My client did not arrive for a meeting, so I told them that we could postpone it. One hour later, my client arrived and told me that it is currently 11 AM at their place, and now, the Fiverr website is saying "Local time: Apr 15, 2024, 12:00 PM". I looked up if the UK (England in this case) has multiple time zones, and that's where I learned about something called British Summer Time (BST). During summers, the time in the UK is 1 hour ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) timezone. However, this does not reflect on the FIverr chats. It seems that it always displays time in GMT in regards to people based in England. Suggestion: Fiverr should implement a more accurate timezone detection system and make sure that the time shown is accurate with the season of the year and the locale. Technical nitty-gritty and suggestions: Additionally, as a programmer, I suggest that they retrieve the user's time from the client-side. I.e., use the frontend JavaScript to simply generate the current time and stream it to the server. What I think they are doing currently is that they get the IP address of the client on the server side, using some in-house or third-party solution to detect a timezone for it and then they return an initial time to the clients. Or on second thought, they most likely just get the timezone at sign-up and keep it that until the user changes it explicitly, which would be even worse and defeat the whole point of showing the user's timezone to others in chat. If either of these are truly the case, then it seems like re-inventing the wheel for no apparent reason and it looks to be prone to bugs. On the other hand, client-side JavaScript by default gets an accurate time directly from the machine of the client with just one line of code. One concern with the suggested approach would be that the user might try (I can't see why, but let's just say they might) to fake their timezone as they have control over the client side, but... they can already do that by using a proxy or VPN and sending the request from a different IP. If the reason for not going with this approach is this concern, then I don't see how this can be avoided even with the current system. Looking forward to the Fiverr team doing something about this and ideas/thoughts from the Fiverr community. Kind regards. Sannan.
  5. I am a new seller in Fiverr and I got a knock from a buyer (probably new buyer) and buyer wants to discuss the project in a zoom call. But in the inbox I am not getting the zoom video call option. So, what can be the possible solution? How can I get the zoom video call option in the fiverr inbox?
  6. Remove the calendly link and then try it. Also, the statement that starts from "Let's connect over.... link": Remove it. Discuss your project with the buyer via Zoom feature only which is accessible via Order Page.
  7. There will be a time in every freelancer’s career when a Buyer is unhappy even if you take all the necessary steps to communicate and provide your best work. These situations are never fun and can be quite difficult to navigate before you’ve developed an effective process for handling order disputes. It's always best to be polite and professional when someone is unreasonable or rude in their criticism of one of your projects. Don't take it personally; most often, the dissatisfaction stems from miscommunication or misunderstanding that you, as a Seller, did your best to avoid. Learning how to handle an unhappy Buyer will help you remain calm and confident while you work to find an ideal outcome. Tips for Handling Unhappy Buyers It's not always easy to handle a dispute with a Buyer, but there are some things you can do to resolve the situation positively. Here are a few tips for handling order disputes: 1. Be willing to apologize An apology for your role in a Buyer’s dissatisfaction will go a long way. Be empathetic and assure them that you understand how frustrating this must be. Let the Buyer know that you are sorry for not meeting expectations and that you want to work with them to find a resolution. 2. Listen closely to what the Buyer says Hearing negative feedback can be tough, but it’s absolutely necessary when revising an order submission! If a Buyer expresses that they are unhappy, politely ask them if they can provide specific feedback about what they don’t like. If you don’t understand or agree with their points, try to avoid getting defensive. Instead, ask for clarification and let them know that you genuinely want to understand their needs. If they continue to provide unclear feedback, you might ask them to provide an example. 3. Avoid an argument It might be tempting to defend yourself or get angry, but engaging on the same level as a negative Buyer may cause the dispute to escalate. Focus on hearing their feedback and adjusting your submission instead of providing all the reasons you did not meet their expectations. You might say something along the lines of, “Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I will do X, Y, and Z to make this better,” and let them know when they can expect a revision. 4. Contact Customer Support If a Buyer is being particularly uncooperative and refusing to provide feedback, Customer Support can act as a mediator to help diffuse the situation. It is important to remember that Support cannot force a Buyer to accept an order - they are a neutral party to help you and the Buyer come to an agreement. Some Buyers are likely to be harder to please than others, but even the most demanding Buyer deserves to be treated respectfully and professionally. Apply their feedback to the next submission and know when to involve Customer Support. If the only option is to cancel an order, you can do so knowing that you gave it your best effort.
  8. As a new seller you can only initiate a video call from inside an order page. That means you need to have an active order with the buyer before you can do so. I get that this complicates things if the potential buyer wishes to have a Zoom call before they order. You could set up a trial order with the buyer for five bucks and use that order to hold the video call, but it would still require the buyer to pay for your time (not that I think that's a bad thing, but they might). Other than that, your only option of communicating is through the inbox. You have to be a leveled seller with an average selling price of $50 or above, a Fiverr Pro seller or deal with a Fiverr Select buyer to initiate a Zoom call from the regular inbox without an order. Fiverr does not look kindly upon regular sellers trying to communicate outside the platform, so I would strongly advice against doing it any other way. I hope this helps! 🙂
  9. Would you mind to share your experience on how to get real clients here? I've posted 2 gigs. One is for Indonesian language or Mandarin Chinese teaching/tutoring, and another one for Indonesian language or Mandarin Chinese translation. The teaching/tutoring gigs get a response from someone who asked for a zoom meeting for an Q&A session before buying the package. What happened during the initial zoom meeting was; He showed me his private part without even showing his face. Some people contacted me for the translation gigs, but always told me to contact someone through telegram, in which I doubt if those jobs were even real, as how we know that scammers usually are using such kind of tricks. So please share your previous experiences which made you get your jobs from here so that newbies like me can learn from you. Thank you.
  10. As a new seller you can only initiate a video call from inside an order page. That means you need to have an active order with the buyer before you can do so, so you did the right thing by explaining this to your buyer. I get that this complicates things if the potential buyer wishes to have a Zoom call before they order, but rules are rules. You could set up a trial order with the buyer for five bucks and use that order to hold the video call, if they're willing to do so. The buyer could also use a screen recording app to record a video of their screen (you could do the same if you have to show them something) and you can send those video files as attachments in the chat. Avoid Loom though, I've seen buyers get warnings for that before. Otherwise, your only option is inbox messages, unless you're a leveled seller with an average selling price of $50 or above, a Fiverr Pro seller or if you're dealing with a Fiverr Select buyer. Fiverr does not look kindly upon regular sellers trying to communicate outside the platform, so again, you did the right thing, and you just have to explain to the buyer in a polite way that those are the rules. I hope this helps! 🙂
  11. I'm so sorry that, you had these horrible experiences during your initial days on the platform. Please avoid communicating with anyone outside the platform and for Zoom calls, ask people to place the order FIRST. All sellers can use the integrated Zoom calls feature on the order page. (https://help.fiverr.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011062838-Video-calls-Zoom-calls) Fiverr records all these calls and can help you in case of inappropriate conduct. Also, you might want to have professional gig images, which describe your services concisely and may be increase the prices little bit (to double digits at least in USD to avoid the scamsters). It takes time to fetch orders on Fiverr but it does have a lot of Real Buyers for sure. Good luck!
  12. Hi, Can we share zoom link in fiverr for tutoring purposes?
  13. Can I use Loom, Zoom or Google Meet to join a live conversation on Fiverr with my client?
  14. Is it just me or is everyone else finding Success Manager completely unresponsive? I can understand some delay in email but if Success Manager is not responding at all (not even once) then how can I tolerate it. Although, I am a regular member of Seller Plus: Standard membership, but this was the first time I upgraded to the Premium package. The only reason was getting the Success Manager (as all other features were already there in the standard plan). I upgraded my plan on 05th Aug and it's been almost a full month now, but my Success Manager is such an unenergetic and irresponsible person that he doesn't even bother to respond even once. Every 4-5 days, I wrote him a new follow-up email but still got no response. I have also complained to customer support twice. Each time, they said that my Success Manager is on vacation and will be back soon. The whole month has passed but his holidays are not ending, just wow! I asked customer support to change my success manager due to the unresponsiveness and then their response was "Changing Success Managers is not a possibility at the moment. If this option does become available at some point, we will let you know." So, basically I am paying an amount and I am not getting the facilities that I was promised. Is this not a violation of my rights? Is that not a "SCAM"? If a seller had done something like this, believe me it would have been his last day on the platform and Fiverr officials would not have thought twice before banning him permanently. What a double-standard hypocrisy in this case. Neither am I getting the facilities I was promised, nor are they changing the Success Manager, and I am completely stuck and paying extra for nothing. Now, my question is:- Is there any way to change my Success Manager? Like, if I cancel the plan and re-subscribe next month, will I get an option to choose a new Success Manager---- or will I still be assigned the same Success Manager? And my second question:- If I downgrade my plan to standard this month, will I still be able to attend my meeting with him on 28th Sept (as it was registered when I had premium plan) ---Or will I lose access to my meeting as well?
  15. Hi I am writing this text very sadly because of my account is flagged . Lastday one new buyer knocked me for a design .He was trying to talk me in Google Meet. But i did not allow this . I suggest him for fiverr zoom call. And I sent him Zoom call button screenshot. And I said I can use this only fiverr zoom. And i send him the join request in fiverr zoom. After completing my zoom install i join in zoom call. When I was installing Zoom, he sent me a Google Meet link.I did not click the link. I was busy to install Zoom; the other way, I would make a report. Then i joined Zoom, we have fiverr auto video call records. We talk for work. At the end of our conversation, Buyer wants my WhatsApp number. but I told him “it's not allowed and restricted” there have a video record . Overall, I think I did not go out of tarms and service. I am a Lavel 2 seller and I know the rules very well. But Fiverr Trust and Safety team take 60 days upto to reviewe . I have no problem if my account permanently disabled. But the problem when i did not wrong and all text and video call are stroed . so this 60 days hard for freelancher. I have nothing to say.
  16. Hello, Hope all are good! Lot of client want to join at google meet to discuss about the project. So my question is can i share the google meet link to the client? Please let me know. Thanks All
  17. I am a web developer with skills of react JS. I am on fiverr from 3 years . Not getting any client .What i have to do? . I have learn all things from youtube and udemy courses.
  18. In my early days as a newbie seller, the order chat was used instead of Fiverr's Zoom (usually for buyers who just wanted real-time corrections). Since I broke my rule and started using more Zoom (to prove I wasn't AI), feedback is either given by Zoom or as a written report. I don't get many orders on these gigs, so it might take some time before I see any Success Score changes for those gigs.
  19. You will get the zoom call option in your inbox also, once your average selling price crosses $50. Details are mentioned in the help center link I shared in my reply.
  20. Thank you very much for the response. I couldn't find the zoom option from the inbox. Does it requires me to become a plus member? As for the pricing, I do put the price relatively low, as other translators in my fields are selling with that price, in which I think is too low, but I might need to adjust just at least to get my first selling.
  21. Doesn't matter if it's spam or a genuine buyer, just avoid contacting outside the platform for two reasons: 1. It's completely against the Terms of Service. 2. If you're chatting outside the platform, no matter if you have completed the work, the buyer can ask for a cancellation and refund by claiming that you have not worked as per their instructions. You will not have any proof to show to Customer Support (as chats outside the platform won't be considered in your favor). You will end up losing your order money, work efforts, time, and most probably, your account as well. Instead, either ask your buyer to send the details through a PDF, recorded video --- or have a Zoom meeting. If the buyer still insists on contacting outside the platform, use the block button and move on. They probably just want to mess with you and your account, which is a big red flag.
  22. I never thought of having a Zoom meeting from t he briefs I am sent. I message the buyer with some questions but I did not realize I could do a zoom call.
  23. As a Seller, Sometimes clients need major help during the project but I can't help them with text messaging. So, Is there any Video calling system available on Fiverr & how to use that?
  24. no you set up a meeting with the zoom client so is no need to go to google meet.
  25. The simple answer is "No", you cannot use Google Meet. Instead, you can schedule a Zoom meeting by using this feature.
