A question for the VA's and those who do research

I have a question, I am new to Fiverr and received a gig to do research, which I love. The person wants a certain business in the entire country for the basic three hours. I advised about possibly needing more time, which I need because the original 3 hours are over and I’m only done with one state.



Do you let the client know how many more hours you may need (such as a guesstimation) and show them what you have finished to close the original job? Do they just add on more gig extras after you show them you need more time until the project is finished?
