You can read hundreds of advices and maybe even more of inspirational/celebrative/humblebrag stories, just remember the hamburger rule:

You can obtain an hamburger from a cow, not a cow from an hamburger.

That means: even if you follow all the advices and do everything by the book, you have no guarantee that you will get some result. That’s why I am wary of the “recipes” in this field.
