Recently, I’ve been having a lot of people place inappropriate orders (i.e. they order an editing gig but want someone to write a proposal for them). Since we sellers don’t have the option to “accept” an order and these just come through, how do you handle them? Obviously, I don’t want to have a high cancellation rate but I don’t see another alternative.
Sometimes I try doing it, if I know how.
Usually, though, I initiate the cancellation request as soon as I see the order, with a polite “Hi, I’m sorry, but it looks like you’ve ordered by mistake. I don’t do so-and-so, I’ve never done it before, and I wouldn’t even know where to start. Please accept the cancellation request, so that you can get a refund, and so that you can look for a seller better suited to your needs.”
Yes you are right there will be the option for buyer to accept.
