How to analyse new and emerging trends?

According to Google,

The top 8 logo design trends 2020 are:

  • 3D gradients.
  • 80s throwback logo designs .
  • Raw & imperfect logos .
  • Logos with ultra thin lines.
  • Vintage 1930s cartoon logos .
  • Multi-layered & overlapping logos .
  • Complex animations with elaborate details.
  • Daring typography.

I personally can’t wait for " Logos with ultra thin lines" to backfire on everyone and be an absolute nightmare to scale and resize.

Hi everyone!

For all you graphic designers specialised on Album Covers / books - What do you feel like is trending right now in terms of what style, colouring, etc. customers are looking for?

Do you notice trends from time to time?

Thanks!

whats are the current updates about graphic industry

That's too broad of a question. It could mean anything from technical (hardware/software) innovations, to consumer interest (economics and market research), to rediscovering classical techniques and applications (history as it applies to today).

how it will affect to fiverr

Predicting industry trends long-term is difficult, if not impossible, especially since the market is fickle, and things can change in an instant (see 2020).

Also, we are your competitors. If I did happen to notice a trend that I could capitalize on, why would I share it? Exclusivity is a part of having competitive advantage.

Hi @gayanchamira! I think freelancing on Fiverr contributes to sustainability goals in many ways:

1. This platform is a great equalizer in terms of economic opportunities for all - if you have skills and the internet, you can earn money on Fiverr. The start up costs are very low  and there are lots of resources to increase in education and skill, regardless of nationality, geographic location, race, religion, gender, abilities, age, familial status, economic status, and social status. There are a few limitations - Fiverr isn't available in some countries, you have to be at least 13 years old, and you do need money to cover the basics, but the barrier of entry is much lower than most brick-and-motar businesses out there.

2. This platform is international and promotes diversity. I think working with my buyers from all over the world (and interacting with other sellers on this platform) has given me a more global outlook and promotes diversity and forward-thinking.

3. Working remotely can be good for the environment. I don't use any paper (everything is done digitally), I don't commute to work, and I can work from anywhere. This helps to reduce unnecessary paper waste, emissions, and urban crowding.

4. Freelancing can be good for remote workers. I love how I have more control over my income and time. I am financially independent and can increase my prices whenever it makes sense. I also have more time for family, my health, and spend more time developing my skills and use of technology than I did working a corporate job. This lifestyle isn't for everyone, but it works for me.

Opportunity for improvement:

I could probably do more to reduce my energy, technology, and and waste footprints. My energy consumption and use of electronics have increased dramatically. Also, I do generate a lot of waste through Amazon orders and Oisix orders (Japan's version of Hello Fresh). Japan has a good recycling system, so I take advantage of that, but I should probably do more to reduce my paper and electronic waste. I should also start growing some of my own food and pick greener options when I buy.

Thanks for the ideas and i suggest to what you should do to reduce energy and electronic wastes, while using the technology with electronic equipment. you can do it long term and short term options.

long term

You can use durable equipment with branded names and try to expand the life time with proper management and maintain practices by the manufacture company. You can select energy saving type equipment according to international standards.

Plan the work to be done future and manage all the things to save the time

Short term

Be aware of the environment and try to work under natural light, natural air, Minimize the paper waste how, using double sides

try to check print previews after all revisions and reduce the number of prints before the final edits

Try to minimize data usages with proper managing soft wares and other technological updates
