How to exactly quote our work?

I provide translation service, and today I saw a buyer through BR seeking a translator. He linked a sample of the slide that he needs to be translated, so I gave him an offer. Moments later, he messaged me saying he needs a quote. What does that mean? Can someone briefly explains it please?

a quote as I understand is basically how much you are going to charge for the translation.
