I don't think this is fair!

Recommended Posts

I’m a copywriter and someone just ordered my gig asking for articles. It’s the first time this happened to me so I looked for ways to cancel it. When I was about to open the dispute, I saw that fiverr may list my gig further down in the search algorithm just because of this.

Why am I getting punished for a mistake I didn’t make?

I have learned that Fiverr will list gigs lower in the search rank after cancellation because they don’t want sellers constantly cancelling orders.

It is sort of like the punishment for Jury Duty… lots of people would not go (or in this case, cancel their order) if there was no penalty for not going.

In any case, you can reach out to Fiverr’s Customer Support team, explain the situation in detail, and see if they would be willing to manually cancel the order without affecting your gig’s ranking.

But, as @joshvoices4you says, it’s just a part of the game 🙂
