It’s been hard trying to get people to purchase my gigs.

Additionally, there’s not alot of buyer requests in my field.

When creating a new gig, consider deeply from title to thumbnail. Use keywords of micro niche. When new message arrives, respond ASAP the best in 1 hour.
Try to promote your gig links on to social medias, blogs or other platforms. Do best when you get first order and start 5 stars review.
