No sales, what I'm doing wrong

#1

Hi
I’m the user of fiverr for several months. Last month I created new gig about video editing. I really tried to make it look professional and bring me some sales. Clock is tickin but to be honest, my sales look miserably :frowning: What I’m doing wrong? Maybe these niche to competetive? I need some cash to open my filmmaking business, so maybe I should try start gig in other category? If yes, what you can suggest me?
Thanks for reply, I will be really thankfull for help.

First thing I noticed your video thumbnail doesn’t pop. Change your video thumbnail to see if it will attract more buyers. If you don’t know how to do it I will submit a link here on the bottom.

I would rerecord your video. Speak slower , you are rushing through it which makes it hard to understand and the most important thing smile

Visit buyer requests daily and apply for jobs there.

Also, it doesn’t hurt to create more gigs. This will give you an idea of what sells and what doesn’t.

Instructions to change your video thumbnail:

Actually I change my video thumbnail yesterday, and I gain some click doing it which realy suprised me. I don’t know why it doesn’t pop up in your case  Thanks for opinion, I think it will be good move to rerecord it with smile and not rushing. Thanks again.

You do a great job at presenting your ability in the video! What you’re offering looks premium and the way you present it works for the most part. @annai80 provided some really useful performance tips if you’re going to be in the video. However, If you’re not comfortable in front of the camera, consider positioning your offering with only samples in a well produced video that I’m sure you can create.

Again, those effects and transitions look really well executed, so perhaps only showcasing your work for now will suit you best if you feel that your strongest ability is the technical/behind the scenes aspect as opposed to the FaceTime (which isn’t required for EVERY niche).

Sometimes reworking your gig video and description can make a big impact but as @Dion mentioned you are not required to be in the video. Just play around and see what works. Wishing you the best of luck.

You responded:

This indicates either 1) you were making a joke or 2) there may be some confusion over her use of the term “pop”.

As I understood it, she meant that the image that shows for your video could be more engaging to the viewer.

To try to help clear up this confusion, here’s what I see as the Video Preview for this gig:

In any case, I suggest you check out Fiverrcast episode 08: Working Through Language Barriers. You should polish the English in your profile and gig description to remove typos such as:

My head is full of creativity and I have good knowledge of the market. I provide professional video edit. I can take care of your films, short clips, music videos, promotions, commercials, intros, marketing videos and a lot of other types of video.

I suggest:

My head is full of creativity and I have good knowledge of the market. I provide professional video edits [or editing]. I can take care of your films, short clips, music videos, promotions, commercials, intros, marketing videos, and a lot of other types of video.

Even so, “My head is full of creativity” comes across as awkward in English. You don’t have to change it, as in a way, it does have its own charm.

Good luck,
Blaise

Be sure to make use of Tools like the Fiverr Blog, Fiverr Academy, and Fiverrcast.

As a general rule, when I have time to participate in the Fiverr Forum and I notice a request like yours in the “Improve My Gig” section, I am willing and able to look at a Seller’s Profile and one gig one time.

I can give you a better level of assistance if you first work your way through the checklist below. That way, I won’t waste your one turn by advising you to follow items on the checklist.

All the above procedures are extremely helpful. Side by Side, I recommend not just sit idle and wait for any random sale to come. Check on a routine basis, the BUYER REQUESTS, as this is the best way to boost sales for newbies

blaisefaint,
Just like you told. I was thinking about other definition of ‘pop’. Actually I’m satisfied with this thumbnail. It brings me more views, than previous one. Also thank you for help to make my description look better.
