#1

One of my buyers ask me to sign up for a account in bitcoince.com. Is this legal. I’m confused.

#2

hi, I think you should contact customer #support… hope you will get an answer…

#3

It sounds like the buyer is trying to pay you outside Fiverr, so no, don’t do this.

#4

There is no website in that domain. (?)

#5

I have contact customer support,I’m waiting for their reply.

#6

No he told me he will order me through fiverr.
He just ask to sign up for a account in
coinbase.com.
and snip and get some images.

There’s no reason any buyer should ask you to signup for any account outside Fiverr.

Is the person asking you to do this a buyer, or was it just a (spam) message? In either case, CS is your first port of call - glad you’ve contacted them, and good luck!

#9

He just ask me to signup for a account and snip and get some images for edit.

#10

No - you don’t need to do that - any images required by you to complete the gig should be uploaded in the gig requirements for just this reason, so you don’t have to go to any other website to get what you need.

Following is one of his messages
"OK here are the clear steps to follow:

1-You will create 2

accounts for yourself.

2-I will send you $1 in one of your coinbase.*** account now you will have some amount to play with.
3-You can move those $1 bitcoins between those coinbase.*** accounts to create transactions on daily bases.
4-Then you can change amounts/names/dates on those transactions to create p.ayment proofs according to my needs.

I will provide you with Client NAME + Amounts Invested by those Clients."

This is clearly spam - it wan’t in an order was it? More likely a spam message - if you get any more like this, please just click the ‘report’ button! Good luck!

#13

He is asking for me to do so. I didn’t agree with him. I’ll report this to fiverr. thank you!!

#14

You retouch photos and design business cards, why would he ask you to create coinbase accounts and… Wait… “Then you can change amounts/names/dates on those transactions to create p.ayment proofs according to my needs.”?

Is he asking you to create fake proofs of payments, and, basically, break the law?

Don’t people go to prison for doing things like that?

#15

Thank you so much for helping me

#16

Sometimes it can be necessary to sign up to a site to get access to the information that you need to do a job so that is not an issue as long as it is described through the gig description and does not lead to communication outside the forum.

What the buyer is asking you to do in this situation is to create fake proofs of payment which is completely illegal. Often, these would be used for tax fraud or scams and when authorities investigate they will probably discover that you made them. Being paid to assist fraud is also illegal and you could be reported to the authorities in your country. At the very least it would be reported to Fiverr and your account would be removed.
Do not do this and report it to customer support. If CS do not understand what you mean then I suggest you send them what I have said above.

#17

Thank you so much for advices.
