Its a wrong way to advertise your gig. Basically it is against fiverr terms and conditions. So I am advising you to beware of it.

I think you should have follow these steps.

1. Daily send buyer requests. It is in Sales>Buyer Requests.
2. Advertise your Gigs.
3. Share your Gigs on social networks and websites.
   If it is not working then change the tags of your Gigs.
   Hope It’ll work.

you can promote your gigs in forum also, but you need to choose correct category “My fiverr gigs”.
