Regarding (A Lack Of) Commercial Rights

I do voice overs.

A buyer (who is also a seller) purchased a narration from me, refused commercial rights (insisted he didn’t need it), then later used the narration I delivered to him in a whiteboard animation for one of his buyers. Without commercial rights, is this allowed?

No, it’s not allowed, because he used it commercially and didn’t purchase the commercial rights option. This is assuming there would no prior agreement he would get commercial rights or anything eg. in an offer he accepted.

So if he purchased your gig and used it commercially (eg. to sell in a product to a buyer) without purchasing commercial rights, you could report him to CS.

Done and done. Let’s see what Customer Support says. I’m a little bit miffed about the whole thing. :C

Thank you for the advice.
