Request Gigs™ Never getting responses?

#1

So I’m curious. I’ve posted probably around 30 messages to peoples inboxes from Request Gigs…

and not a single one has ever replied to me o.0

Does anyone ever get a response?

Yes, I wouldn’t give up. They may be getting a lot of responses or it may be that they haven’t deleted their request and no longer need help. I have gotten many gigs from messaging gig requests so be persistent. The response ratio might not be great but I am sure you will land one soon. Plus, you might be surprised and have those people you messaged approach you months later. It’s happened to me!

So far I’ve had 4 people reply (out of 10 that I’ve messaged from the request gigs box). One had already found someone, one ended up not moving forward with his project, and the other two have turned into great, on-going relationships. So as far as I’m concerned, it’s worthwhile.

Fiverr really needs to consider doing something better with how the gig requests are presented, though, in order to truly facilitate communication between potential buyers and sellers.

I think I’ve had two people respond back to me on the requests. One I thought they were wanting something different so I couldn’t do their request and the other never returned my message when I told them my prices for it all.

#5

I have had a lot more responses recently keep at it. One response I got today was they cancelled the task…so they should remove the request lol

Most days go by with no replies to that section…however it DOES pay off. The ones that DO reply have all turned into sales and even repeat sales for me. Then someimes a “windfall” even happens like yesterday where 6 different people that I have been in communication with all purchased a gig. Don’t give up…well do actually since your in the same category as me!

I’ve never had a reply back and i answer a lot of request :frowning:

Just some insight from the other side of the coin, I put up my very first request a few days ago and got an overwhelming response, many of them were not written very well, which made me hesitant to read through them all (I was also busy).

So, it may be that the person was just inundated with replies, picked the first person and didn’t bother to reply to the rest, or they could just be having a hard time reading all the responses.

In my case, I am still deciding on who to pick and even if I still need the job done. However I’m not going to feel bad for not responding to the folks who obviously didn’t read my request correctly and can’t even write a correct sentence [not saying anyone in this thread does that].

@madmoo yeah I agree, it was hard to write what I wanted with the character limitation, and sadly I think a lot of the folks replying just keyed in on one particular word.

Yeah, I’ll surely post here if I need it.

#10

I wanted someone to make an Excel list of all links on one of my websites with a certain keyword in it.

Unfortunately many folks just focused on “Excel”… I got folks who would type data into an Excel sheet. That was really the minor part of what I wanted.

One guy seemed to get what I wanted but said it would take 20 gigs worth of work… which I think it might so I think I’ll come up with another way to do what I thought I needed the list for.
