I buy $20 gigs on a regular basis. As of my most recent purchase (November 13, 2020), the service fee is now $3. No explanation near the fee. I googled, no explanation online. There must be a better way.
Why was I charged a service fee?
Service fees are added at the time of purchase where a Buyer can review and accept the total amount requested to pay. These fees cover administrative fees.
As of November 2020, the service fees are 5% of the purchase amount. For purchases under $50 an additional $2 small order fee will be applied.
The service fee is charged on every payment made. If during your order you place the main purchase, then add a GigExtra, and then you tip the seller, each payment will include a service fee charge.
Thank you - I see your note but if it’s $2 for orders under $50, I’m still not sure why my (new) service fee would be $3 on a $20 order. It used to be $2 but is not, today.
Wait - I think you are saying 5% plus $2.
5% of $20 is $1 + $2 fee = $3 total
Can someone please let me know if they increased their service fee to $3.25 or if this is a system error? I haven’t received a response yet from C.S., and I received no notice of an increase. Order was $25 gig cost…
Agreed, mine is $25, so it was under the $50 limit, yet I’m being charged a whopping $3.25, and that will be doubled when I tip too (I like to tip) which is disappointing. That’s $6.50!!!
Yes it has increased ,
Fiverr’s terms of service were updated in November. One of the changes involved the restructuring of order fees. To see the new Fiverr Payment terms, check here --> https://www.fiverr.com/content/payments-terms-and-conditions
If you give a $5 tip, it will be accompanied by 2.25& charges.
Thank you for this information! I will take note of the increases moving forward.
I’ll have to find a way to reduce costs. It’s becomin expensive to purchase on Fiverr.
