I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money on art from 3 of them. The way they work with shapes making them so alive and dynamic yet funky and strange makes me feel not worthy of having hands :))

Using the whole or a part of someone’s username is perfectly acceptable in forum culture. (And is actually better than addressing someone with a term of familiarity.) And you’re welcome, there’s a reason he’s who I chose to share as my favorite to this thread!

James Jean did My Chemical Romance’s Black parade cover. I’ve been in love ever since. It’s truly inspiring to see someone being so consistent with quality and talent though the years.

The vultures are a nice touch. Any idea what that red line represents?

It’s a concept album about how death comes for people taking shape of their best memory. The main character’s best memory was seeing a marching band at a parade with his father when he was a kid. The red line is both a blood transfusion tube/IV line and a literal lifeline being dragged behind as he’s being led away. I think.

It’s one of my favorite albums, both in terms of music and in terms of art and story that was made for it, that’s how I always read the meaning behind the piece.

Modigliani:

I’ve never seen much illustrative design but I’m appreciative of it. Anything else you want to share is welcome.
I saw a Modigliani in a gallery once and I couldn’t stop looking at it. It was very large. Bigger than life size. Seeing this picture of one it loses the intensity. I love art.

Being from Montana I have visited the CM Russel Museum numerous times and seen his art in person. I love how he paints light.
