This is the ultimate fiverr guide for all fiverr buyers. It will help the buyers in their purchases and you will learn important things you need to learn.

This post is to hopefully help buyers find the answers they need. Please be aware that the forum on Fiverr is not a way to contact Customer Support .

Ordering

=Gigs may be purchased using a Credit Card, PayPal, Bitcoin, and in certain countries Skrill or Dwolla.

=Once payment is confirmed, your order will be created.

=If you have funds in your account balance, it will be automatically applied to your next purchase, but only in the event that your balance covers the entire purchase amount.

=As a buyer, your identity is kept anonymous at all times. To protect your privacy, avoid requesting or providing Email addresses, s***e/IM usernames, telephone numbers or any other personal contact information to communicate outside of Fiverr.

=You may not offer sellers to pay, or make payment using any method other than through the Fiverr.com site.

=You may not pay other users directly using any method other than ordering through the Fiverr order page. In case you have been asked to use an alternative payment method, report it immediately to fiverr customer support.

=Filing a dispute or reversing a payment through your payment provider or your bank prior to attempting to resolve the matter by working it out with the Seller through the Fiverr dispute resolution tools and contacting customer support through this Site may get your account suspended to investigate possible security violations.

=In case of a problem, always try and work things out with your seller. If you need further assistance, contact fiverr customer support.

=Order cancellations (when eligible) can be performed by customer support only up to a period of 10 days from order completion date. fiverr will not be able to cancel orders after that time.

Shipping

=Some of the services on Fiverr are delivered physically (arts and crafts, collectable items, etc.). For these types of gigs, sellers may decide to add additional charges for shipping. Sellers can add shipping prices for local shipping (within the same country) and for international shipping (anywhere else).

=Buyers, who order Gigs that require physical delivery, will be asked to provide a shipping address.

=Sellers are responsible for all shipping arrangements once the buyer supplies the shipping address.

=Fiverr does not handle or guarantee shipping, tracking, quality, and condition of items or their delivery and is not be responsible or liable for any damages or other problems resulting from shipping.

=A tracking number is a great way to avoid disputes related to shipping. We recommend entering the tracking number if available in the order page when delivering your work.

This are the most important things you need to know as a fiverr buyer.

Fiverr Sheriff’s Note: There is a Self Promotion area on the Forum. Please use it and stop hi-jacking others.

Purchasing Gigs

When you see a gig you like. What do you do! Well ME being a Top Buyer on Fiverr. I would like to tell you #3 Important things when looking for the most appropriate Gig!

=When looking for a gig Always check with the Owner of the Gig. Get more information about it. Just because they summarize whats going on in the gig with the details doesn’t mean they give you the full info. Beware of scams

=Pay Close Attention to the Comments and Ratings of the Gig. Some people may have no comments at all but you have to think about using your 5 dollars wisely. So when you purchase that gig you pay attention to all. even if you see some terrible comments its on you to purchase the gig!

Messaging sellers

I certainly believe you should contact a seller prior to ordering a gig if you have questions, but I don’t think you should message them just to message them. You should have a specific question that isn’t already explained in the gig description. If a seller is getting tons of messages that could be answered by just reading the gig description then it can impact their ability to actually DO the work. It is important to be respectful of each others time, so sellers need to try and be clear and concise in their descriptions and buyers should take the time to read that information prior to messaging.

Be clear about what you want

If you are asking about whether the seller can offer a service you need. Let them know exactly what you’re looking for. By giving them all the details upfront, you’ll be able to get an accurate response from them with respect to time and cost of the project.e

If you give them inaccurate information from the get-go, it may result in an inaccurate price quote and to complete the order you may need to purchase an add-on.

Add your order number

If you’re writing about an order that they completed for you, add the order number to your message. That will help the seller find the order you’re referencing.

Personalize your messages

If you need something done and are messaging a number of sellers to ask them about it, make sure to personalize these messages. Especially if you’re copy and paste a general message take a minute to include their username and any other detail to let them know that the message was intentionally sent to them.

Fiverr community members can report messages as unwanted. When they do this, you may get flagged and won’t be able to send any other messages.

Personalizing your messages can help let the seller know that your message is meant for them.

You can also tip the seller, if you are really happy with what you received.

Some sellers have a specific gig set up for tips. If not, you can always just buy another gig from a seller (like the same one you just bought) and say to the seller in your instructions, "Please just mark this gig as ‘delivered.’ This is a tip for you!"

You can also locate a gig by seller’s name, fiverr.com/USERNAME

Be aware of gigs that will post your message to millions of Facebook users

Many sellers on here say that they will post your message to hundreds of thousands and all the way up to millions of Facebook users.

However, I warn you that your message will not get the attention you think it can get. What these sellers really do is that they post your message in multiple gigantic marketing Facebook groups; these groups are spammed with message after message, link after link, and no one ultimately looks at these groups because they know it’s just a black-hole where they can post their links.

You want a quality audience–not a fake and large one.

Always research what you want to buy.

Whatever it is, look at lots of gigs.

The first thing you should notice is the main gig image (the thumbnail you see in the list of available gigs). The second thing you should look, at once you go to that gig are the images that are shown and/or the cover picture.

The third thing, look at (esp with art gigs) are any available portfolio images (to make sure they’re of the same style and quality as the images used to promote the gig - you’d be amazed (or not) how many bear little resemblance to what’s on offer.

Next, read the gig description to see what the seller offers and if anything costs extra.

Watch any available videos.

Then you look at the feedback if there is any.

Look to see if the seller bothers to reply to thank people who leave feedback.

Look to see if the seller has a ‘face’ or image as their profile pic - no image tells me they haven’t made much effort.

Look to see how long they’ve been selling (Please don’t mind buying from new sellers, they will even work better)

Look at the response time (though that’s not always accurate) and I look at the cancellation rate (again, from better experience, we know how accurate THAT is).

Going back to the description and title, if there are any spelling or grammar errors, afraid you would need to work extra hard, since to me, it ranks alongside a lack of profile image as proof of laziness.

If the description says to ask first, then ask.

If you send a message and don’t get a reply, then you’ve lost your business, no matter how good you seem to be (especially if you’re new and presumably keen to get work).

Please also do share, whatever you have got to share.

This post is to hopefully help buyers find the answers they need. THIS IS NOT ALL MY OWN! I have collected these tips from across the forums so they are all in one place. Please be aware that the forum on Fiverr is not a way to contact Customer Support.

Ordering a gig

Just click the big green “Order Now” button on the gig’s page, then follow the instructions by inputting your payment option and submitting the information requested by the seller. BEFORE YOU ORDER make sure to read through the full description, watch any videos they have, and look through the picture samples; you need to be sure they are offering exactly what you are looking for. Many sellers request you contact them before you order!

The shopping tab

If you want to see what you ordered and keep a record of your orders you can easily see all the information by clicking “Shopping” on the top of the Fiverr page. This will let you check the statuses of your current orders and help you visit them with ease.

Cancelling an order

Before cancelling, please understand the funds you used to order the gig WILL NOT go back to your PayPal or other private account; it will be credited back to you for Fiverr use only.

• If you ordered a gig by mistake, do NOT send a message in the order page and do not respond to the requested information. Instead, click “Resolution Center” on the top of the order page and click the “This isn’t what I wanted” option to start the cancellation process.

• If the order is already started and you wish to cancel, first make sure to communicate with your seller to figure out if there is any other way you two could work out the details of finishing the order. If not, click “Resolution Center” on the top of the order page to request a mutual cancellation. Be aware that this affects Sellers negatively, so they will try to avoid it.

Marking an order "Complete"

When the seller delivers their product/service, the order status will be changed to “Delivered”. At this time you have the option to rate your experience with the seller and leave feedback which can be viewed by the public. If you decide not to rate and leave feedback, the gig will be marked as “Complete” after three days.

The “Request Modification” button

Sellers HATE this button; it will turn the clock back on so the gig will be considered ‘late’ AND it shows up on their screen as “Rejected” even if all you want is a tiny tweak. Many sellers have a modification policy on their gigs, so read the description before clicking this button. IN FACT, we highly recommend you ignore that button and just request modifications by sending a message on the order page.

Creating a gig request

If you cannot find the offer you are looking for, you can always try the buyer requests section. Just click “Shopping” on the top of the Fiverr page, then click “Request a Gig” on the right ride of the page. Your gig request should be extremely short and to the point; you can talk out the details with the sellers who offer their gigs.

Your account funds

Fiverr currently does not give anyone the option to add or deposit funds into their Fiverr account from any personal account. Buyers can only submit their payment information when they order a gig.

Paying the seller

When you submit your payment information after clicking the “Order Now” button, your payment for the order is held by Fiverr. After the seller delivers and the gig status moves to “Complete” the seller will then wait 14 days for your payment to be released by Fiverr into their Fiverr account. Please remember that a seller is earning slightly less than 80% of the funds you paid for the gig.

Closing your account

This isn’t really an option right now, and there doesn’t need to be one. If you don’t want to continue using Fiverr, all you need to do is stop visiting the site. But, if you really want to close your account so you can create a new one (since Fiverr only allows a user to have one account) you can contact Customer Support and request the account be closed.

Fraud, Scams, and Spammers

If you have proof that a seller is selling something illegal or against the terms of service for Fiverr or other sites, you should contact Customer Support directly with the evidence and a good explanation.
