Things to think about before you create a new Gig [ARCHIVED]

Consider each Gig you create as a branch of your business.

Here are some tips to keep in mind before you expand and create new Gigs:

  1. Think about hobbies and talents that you can offer as a service. Take this opportunity to do what you love and make it your business.

  2. Break down the tasks so that each Gig offers a base service that you feel comfortable offering and completing for $5. As you grow, you can offer more advanced services at additional costs.

  3. Is your delivery time sustainable? Once the orders start coming in, you’ll need to be able to keep up and complete them on time. Delivering on time is key to getting more orders and repeat buyers.

  4. Research to see if you have competitors on the site. Check out what they are offering and if your service and quality is competitive. Also, if you have a unique advantage be sure to highlight it in your Gig description.

  5. Your description should clearly explain your service to buyers. Include details of what you do and what you don’t do.

  6. Optimize your tags, title, description with keywords.

  7. Add a video that introduces yourself and your service to the community.

A key element that I didn’t see mentioned here is to:

Think two or three offers ahead. (This could be said to be part of point #2)

What I mean by that is, as you get a following on fiverr from scratch you will Level UP. Even more than that, as you provide a gig, you will have more and more feedback and enthusiasm from your customers.

Because of “Gig Extras”, both the income opportunity, as well as, the work flow elements of it. You really want to think, what will I do as a $5 Gig Extra, a $10 Gig Extra, a $20 Gig extra…

…and ultimately, WHEN/IF I get to be blessed as a Top Rated Seller, is there something I can do for as much as $50 extra?

If I cannot think of something related worth at least $20 that I’m willing to do, I don’t put my main focus in that gig.

These are great tips, genealogy is a branch of my heart and soul, I have such a passion for it so I actually do not look at it as a business but as a passion

Reply to elliott22x: With helping people start their family trees I feel like I am giving back to society and the human race, my product will live on for a long time. Even if a client files the chart away, they have engaged in a conversation that others in their families are listening to

Hey Natalie,

I’m strongly Agree to 3rd point. I’m feeling it very much. When I deliver within 1 or 2 hour my 1 Day gigs, I get more super Feedbacks while getting me automated views to my gigs absolutely from Fiverr Robot. I like very much this, As 3rd point others also great and am already following all the things you mentioned here for most of my gigs

Cheers!

Shyam

GREAT TIP: 5) Your description should clearly explain your service to buyers. Include details of what you do and what you don’t do.

However even in B & W some buyers just don’t get it

I’ve also had to write that a potential buyer needs to have a convesation with me before ordering. I’m not always on Fiverr, so when someone orders and I fail to deliver it looks bad on me even though I had no idea the person ordered. I 't know if this is good or bad to do, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. It has affected my rating on one of my gigs because of this.
