aweberr
Difficulty : EasyI am sure there are topics that you found interesting, replied and were keen on checking out the replies on it but it got lost in the heap of new threads being created everyday, and maybe you remember the name of the person who created the thread and want to click on their profile and see if there are any updates on the thread or maybe you are a Russian spy who just wants to snoop on the activity of a particular person and find all the threads created/replied by them instead of going to his Fiverr.com profile like it does by default right now. Here is the URL structure : http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/activity/[profile-ID]/[username]For example, if you want to stalk the admin, here is how : http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/activity/152/kevinwilUPDATE : UPDATE : You can actually look up the activity without knowing the profile ID. Just omit the profile IDSo this works too : http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/activity/kevinwilIts http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/activity/[username]You can find all discussions started by the person this way : http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/discussions/[username]Like so : http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/discussions/kevinwilYou can find all comments dropped by a person by this way : http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/comments/[username]Like so : http://forum.fiverr.com/profile/comments/kevinwil

hotwebideas
@oldbittygrandma , Inspect Element is only for people who have Google Chrome. inspect element is Firebug on Firefox and something totally different on Internet Explorer. So, bottom line, this works for Google Chrome only.I think we need a feature added for this to work for everyone. aweberr
oldbittygrandma said: how to find the [profile-ID] !! Here is the quicker way to do it. Just hover your cursor over anyone's profile link or profile pic and it will show you the profile ID as a part of the URL structure that leads to their profile. In Chrome it shows in the footer, in other browsers it might show elsewhere. Usually its near the footer or the header ( near the url bar)You guys went overboard with the Firebug and Inspect element and copy link thing ;) Its like taking a nuclear bomb to a street fight. aweberr
madmoo said: I don't know if it means anything The forum runs on Vanilla and the admin's ID is always 1 and so on for subsequent registrations BUT the forum imports all their user database from the Fiverr marketplace, probably via JSON, but the same rule still applies. Admin is always 1, then comes other registrations, on a first come first serve basis. For you to find your neighbor, you will also need their username along with the profile ID, so it is technically tough unless the neighbor voluntarily drops a message. aweberr
oldbittygrandma said: So whoever acted on the first email about the forum fastest, got a lower number. No, whoever registered on Fiverr.com first got a lower number. The forum is designed to fetch all its user database from the main site and they have blocked direct registrations. So your user ID is something that you got when you first signed up to Fiverr.com If direct registrations would have been active then the register page would have been precisely at this location : http://forum.fiverr.com/entry/register and subsequent login page would have been here : http://forum.fiverr.com/entry/signin Currently they are using SSO (single sign on) so no new registrations are allowed directly from the links above, and it is mandatory that you get an account at Fiverr.com first to enter the forum and they have also locked down the password reset window for the direct login option which could have been accessed here (if it was enabled) : http://forum.fiverr.com/entry/password

aweberr
caiterz said: Really?? You helped make our forums!!! I didn't make the Forum. Its just that the software that this forum uses is opensource. Think of it like wikipedia. Just like volunteers from all over the world contribute content to make wikipedia, similarly people from the globe volunteer to contribute their code to opensource softwares so that it may grow. It is a continuous development process which keeps improving the software. Softwares like Vanilla, Wordpress, Android, Linux and Wikipedia were made this way. Check this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-source_software I contribute code to Vanilla and Wordpress. Bug fixes, new features, security patches, plugins, themes, etc.
