"username" can no longer be contacted. This will not affect your response rate

Hello my friends.
I’m new user here, first person who interested in my gig and contacted me, one day later disappeared like this “can no longer be contacted. This will not affect your response rate.”. cant reach his profile, cant write the message.

As I made some research he might be spammer or something like that , I got it, but whole day I was working on his project, already sent him some sketch, I spent time. How can I avoid this kind a situations?
what is your experience about it?

I’m afraid next customer also treat like this.
what is the solution?

Firstly never start any client project before he/she order your gig. When he/she place and order your gig and countdown start then you can be start your work

Sadly for you, you’ve learnt a hard but valuable lesson. Never start work without an order being in place. Personally, I never even offer free samples. If a buyer wants to ‘try you out’ you could offer a custom gig for $5 (for example) to cover a small part of the work. Remember, to most buyers in most Western / developed countries, $5 is next to nothing - but it establishes a commitment.

firstly check the client profile. if no review then don’t provide him and work sample without watermark.
