Weird experience on Fiverr

So im less than a month mature on this platform and I had some buyer come up to me asking me how long i would take to transcribe a given recording.

i quoted a time and he told me to start and i was like hey, please place your order first.

he then goes AWOL/MIA

check his profile out and he is a seller of the same service.

Sounds like he was doing some market research… and it happens a lot. Everywhere. On classic Marketing it’s called “mystery buyer” -an undercover customer that would enter a given shop to gather information on products/services, prices, employees, etc.
