Why do i have to put a phone number in my profile and why won't the site let me do so?

i needed to put a phone number in my profile to reach the 70% needed to become a seller but everytime i tried to the buttons were gray. it told me to delete caché memory and so i did but then it wouldn’t place my country’s code and there was no way i could do this manually. eventually it just told me i would have to wait 48 hours which at the moment is too long of a wait. can anyone tell if there’s any other way to place my phone number in there?
