Why my delivery is still showing late?

I have a gig where i mention delivery time 5 days. Client responding very slow, like few hours before the deadline ends, request for a review, i ended up sending him a resolution to extend the deadline, which was accepted. Even though that extension is not over yet, my order status is saying LATE 3 days.

Want to understand how to handle this type of situation.
